Registered Nurse |
Job description
- Provides skilled nursing services in accordance with the orders of a physician and under a plan of care in a patient’s home. Has the responsibility for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counsel, care and health teaching of the ill, injured, or confined, and the maintenance of health and prevention of illness of others.
- Records the health needs of the patient.
- Initiates Plan of Care, revises as necessary.
- Evaluates the effects of the care given and regularly reevaluates the patient’s nursing needs.
- Provides those services requiring substantial specialized nursing skill based on the physician’s orders and the nursing diagnosis. Examples of such services include, but are not limited to; physical assessment, patient and family teaching, urinary catheter insertion and care, venipuncture and administration of IV fluids or medications, dressing changes, sterile and nonsterile.
- Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
- Counsels the patient and his/her family in meeting nursing and related needs.
- Prepares clinical and progress notes on the relevant and specialized nursing services he/she provides and maintain a clinical record for each patient receiving care.
- Submission of documentation per agency policy.
- Participates in in-service programs and staff meetings.
- Makes the home health aide assignment, prepares written instructions for the aide and supervises the aide in the home.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to complete all physical demands of the job, which may include, but not be limited to: the ability to lift and transfer patients, carry supplies, and read normal typewritten print. Have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and have manual dexterity with normal range of motion of all extremities. May be requested to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Must be able to work alone without usual support systems immediately available in acute care settings. Must have the ability to deal with abrupt schedule changes and to maintain objectivity in coping with the stress of working with acute, chronic and terminally ill patients.

Physiotherapist Specialist |
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program and licensed by the Saudi Health Council. Has had a minimum of three years working experience as a physical therapist.
Job Duties (include, but are not limited to the following):
- Assists the physician in evaluating the patient’s level of function. Assess patient’s home environment for safety hazards and architectural barriers, identifies equipment needs.
- Identifies functional problems and establishes goals and a plan of care designed to improve the patient’s functional status (revising as necessary).
- Performs patient tests, measurements, and evaluations, such as range of motion and manual muscle tests, gait and functional analysis, and body parts measurement, and records and evaluates findings to aid in establishing or revising specifics of treatment programs.
- Instructs patient and family members, as well as other health team members, during certain phases of physical therapy in which they may work with the patient.
- Periodically re-evaluates and upgrades the patient’s program to maximize functional improvement.
- Administers the exercise program utilizing specialized therapeutic exercise techniques and equipment.
- Plans an administers prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part.
- Recommends prosthetic/orthotic devices for patients or evaluates their devices and makes minor adjustments or recommends modifications by the prosthestist/orthotist.
- Confers with the family, referring physician, and other agency professional staff to obtain information to promote coordinated, efficient, and quality patient care.
- Performs and submits required documentation of patient’s evaluations, plan of care, clinical notes, and progress reports, summaries along with changes in orders. All patient visit notes must be turned in the next scheduled work day, not to exceed forty-eight (48) hours.
- Keeps his/her immediate supervisor informed of problem areas and makes suggestions for improvement.
- Attends and contributes to in-services, clinical records reviews, meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive plans of care for the patients of the agency.

Respiratory therapist (RT) |
Job description
- Respiratory therapists assist patients of all ages who suffer from pulmonary (breathing) disorders.
- In addition to analyzing and performing diagnostic testing, respiratory therapists perform relevant exams and control patients’ blood-oxygen levels, as well as set up and utilize cardiopulmonary equipment and machines needed to assist or monitor the patients breathing.
- Transporting, setting up, or testing the operation of and changing simple oxygen administering devices, e.g., masks and nasal canola's with cylinder or centralized medical gas systems.
- Setting, initiation and monitoring of mechanical ventilators (Respirators).
- Disassembling, cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing reusable respiratory equipment such as oxygen analyzers and regulators, including recognizing and reporting variations from expected results.
Due to a growing need for respiratory therapists, job opportunities are increasing. The majority of respiratory therapist jobs are located in hospital settings, however many therapists are working in home care or nursing care facilities. The equipment used by a respiratory therapist can sometimes be hazardous, so safety precautions must be followed carefully.
